FIVE PODIUMS & A DOUBLE VICTORY FOR TODD AT NORTH WEST 200
Davey Todd and Milwaukee BMW were in top form at a sun drenched International North West 200 over the weekend – taking a double in the Superstock class and three second places in the Superbike races.
Todd made the Superstock races all his own with subliminal top steps in both races on Thursday and Saturday aboard the Milwaukee BMW M1000RR.
In the Superbike class he fought tooth and nail with BSB championship leader Glenn Irwin around the 8.9-mile circuit in all three races, losing out by a whisker . It was a Superbike masterclass from both and sets Todd up well for the upcoming Isle of Man TT at the end of the month.
Speaking afterwards, Todd who also recorded 209mph through the speed trap during the meeting said:
“Full credit to the whole team. I’ve settled in well at TAS Racing and the effort my crew and everyone in the garage gives me is second to none – the team of the meeting award is testament to that.
Yes of course I would loved to have taken one of the Superbike race wins, but Glenn is riding at the top of his game and we made him work hard for it.
The Superstock wins were very satisfying for sure. Thanks to Philip and Hector for giving me the opportunity, the boys in the garage and of course Milwaukee for supporting, as well as all our other sponsors this week.”DAVEY TODD #74 MILWAUKEE BMW
“This year’s North West 200 has been a massive success for Milwaukee. The weather played its part for sure, but Davey’s efforts on track and those behind the scenes in the garage and hospitality made it a weekend to remember for Milwaukee and all our guests trackside.”
DALE McELVEEN MANAGING DIRECTOR, UK & IRELAND, TECHTRONIC INDUSTRIES
“Great weather, big crowds, superb racing and a few trophies and wins to add to our tally here at the North West.
Davey is a popular lad and a hard rider who wants to win and he showed that this week with full effort and commitment every time he pulled his helmet on.
We’ve demonstrated the strength and competitiveness of the M1000RR once again, showing its versatility from circuit racing to road racing. We just need to continue this form next week in BSB and of course the Isle of Man TT in a couple of weeks’ time. Thanks to Milwaukee and all our other loyal sponsors. It’s nice to give something back and those wins and podiums will offer a strong return for all.”PHILIP NEILL – TEAM PRINCIPAL, TAS RACING
